In 2015 following the release of his web series "open mike" Gian Smith released his short film “The Adulterer” which screened in over 20 film festivals and won several awards and nominations including the prestigious Remi award at the 49th Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival.
Since then Gian has completed two more short films including “Tucker’s War” Which closed out its festival run with three best feature awards including a win for Best Film at the Hip Hop FIlm Festival in Harlem. In 2022 Gian was selected as a fellow in the New Orleans Film Society's Emerging Voices Cohort.
