Michelene Mallard is an award-winning filmmaker from Brooklyn with roots in both New York and Birmingham, Alabama. Her work centers Black American culture through intimate portrait documentaries and narrative storytelling. Influenced by artists like Gordon Parks and Ava DuVernay, she brings a bold,
emotionally resonant voice to her films. A Miles College alumna and recent MFA graduate of The City College of New York, she leads Karaokeandvodka Productions LLC to amplify marginalized voices worldwide.
