Matthew '6oogieman' McKenzie, a first-generation Caribbean-American, was born and
raised in the Bronx and now lives in Harlem. Though he spent years in education and
mentorship, that chapter was a detour from his true calling—filmmaking and storytelling, a
passion he's carried since day one. His work comes straight from the communities that
raised him, telling their stories with all the grit, love, and layered truth they deserve. Now
fully living in his purpose, Matthew creates stories that resonate, uplift, and speak truth
