Alyscia Cunningham is a first-generation Trinidadian American filmmaker and author who grew up in Queens, New York, and now resides in the DC Metro Area. Her work centers on telling stories that amplify underrepresented voices, particularly within the BIPOC community and women’s health. Through her production company, Her House Media, she uses film and photography to challenge social norms and promote projects written and directed by women of color. SEEING WITHOUT SIGHT is a documentary short that follows the journeys of girls and women with vision loss, challenging societal norms of beauty.
