Artists, survivors, ex-gang members, and critics confront hip-hop’s modern cost, asking how trauma, violence, and profit shape identity and destiny.
Director
RONNIE LILLARD

Ronnie Lillard is a filmmaker, cultural strategist, and artist whose life has unfolded at the fault lines of race, power, culture, and consequence in America. Raised between Houston’s historic Third Ward and Florida communities shaped by migration, poverty, and survival, Lillard grew up inside environments where violence, creativity, faith, and resilience coexisted daily. These were not abstract social conditions, but lived realities that formed his earliest understanding of identity, masculinity, and belonging.
