A gritty Detroit drama about ambition, denial, mental health, and the cost of becoming who you were meant to be.
Director
Hakim A. Khalfani

Hakim A. Khalfani, “HAK”, was born in Detroit, Michigan. HAK is a graduate of Morehouse College with a BS in Finance. In 2010, HAK wrote and directed his most prized film to date, "FORGIVENESS", a faith based film, starring Richard T. Jones. In 2022, HAK switched gears from film to television. During the development and production of BIGSHOT season 2, HAK developed a great relationship with show runner Dean Lorey, and director Bill D'Elia; allowing him to work many late nights with Dean and shadow director Bill D’Elia on episodes 1 and 10. After the final episode of BIGSHOT season 2, HAK was approached to create a drama series targeted for the streaming audiences; TUBI, AMAZON, FOXSOL, etc... Without hesitation, HAK put together a small writing room, and lost himself in the pages, creating 8 episodes for season 1 of “CHOPS”.
